Testing hypotheses about psychometric functions

News

  • Mar 27, 2007: Mex files are now included in the toolbox download for MacOS X on Intel and GNU/Linux on AMD64.
  • Oct 24, 2006: The spammers seem to be ahead in the arms race for now, so I've had to abandon the old psignifit contact address. Here is the new one.
  • Jan 20, 2005: Major development on psignifit has stopped, but the last year's changes have been integrated and released as a new version, 2.5.6. The major changes are a workaround for the highly popular Matlab R14 incompatibility, and a new (somewhat experimental) LAMBDA_EQUALS_GAMMA fitting constraint. As ever, check the version history and download pages.
  • March 1, 2004: Compiled mex file for MacOS X posted on download page (compiled and tested under Matlab 6.5.1 for OSX). Thanks to Jacob Duijnhouwer.
  • September 10, 2002: Minor update to version 2.5.41, to make the toolboxes portable to the new Matlab release R13 (version 6.5). A few other minor tweaks. Only the Matlab m-files have changed.
  • July 22, 2002: Released pfcmp, an extension to the psignifit toolbox for Matlab 5.2 and up. This is an m-file designed to compare psychometric functions across two experimental conditions, using Monte Carlo simulations carried out by the psignifit engine. See the FAQ page for more information. Download here.
  • May 2002: moved to bootstrap-software.org and changed the name of the project from psychofit to psignifit (here's why).
  • April-May 2002: software updated to version 2.5.4 (several bug-fixes mostly relating to the Windows platform)
  • March 2002: Hill's (2001) doctoral thesis is now available online. It contains further details of the methods we describe in the P & P papers, and many new results bearing on their performance. See publications.
  • February 2002: Perception & Psychophysics papers updated - the published versions are now downloadable from the publications page.

Check the version history page for more details.
